The Veterans Memorial Park is the brainchild of Mayor Patty Carson to turn a barren parcel of land into a respectful place of honor. Located behind the North Town Hall, Mayor Carson worked with County Councilmember Heyward Livingston to design the project.  Funding for the project is through a PARD grant which Carson received and additional funding from Councilmember Livingston.  The park is planned as a quiet, serene and respectful tribute to all branches of our armed services. Carson selected Patrick Livingston of the LandPlan Group as the landscape architect.  Patrick is the son of Nancy & Theron Livingston, and a native of North.  The park will contain a monument for all branches of service, engraved pavers, park benches and trees.  A dedication ceremony is planned for November, 2019.  Special thanks to Churchich Recreation & Design, Digging Deep Construction, Inc., Edisto Fence Company, LandPlan Group South, Inc., Mr, Heyward Livingston, Smoak Irrigation Company, SC PARD, Worth Monument Company, LLC, Patriot Guard Riders, and community volunteers, Doyle Carson and John Gleaton.
